What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

A burst of red fruit in the front of the mouth from the Shiraz grape moves into rich blackberry and cassis Cabernet flavors in the middle of the palate. The structure is balanced and soft, giving the wine a smooth finish. These prominent fruit flavors make the wine taste great with spicy barbeque sauce or smoked meats.

The deep ruby color of this wine is the first hint of layers currant, blueberry, clove and tobacco that unfold in the mouth. Barrel aging enhances a supporting structure that makes this wine a perfect dinner match with thyme-encrusted roasted pork chops or hamburgers mothered in bleu-cheese and mushrooms.
