Deep maroon in the glass and loaded with sediment. Very floral and dark fruit nose. Fuzzy on the palate. Blackberry jam notes with some hints of fig. Not very powerful or complex. A tad vegetal, but not in a bad way. - Tasted at Beringer Private Reserve Tasting at the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas 4/5/10
This sang right out of the bottle! Great deep crimson color. A beautiful nose of cassis, camphor and lilacs. The palate revealed amazing balance and breed, elegance and class. Wow. There were some fresh ground coffee beans, lead pencil shavings and soy all wrapped in a multi-layered dark fruit blanket. A long smooth finish beckons one back for a top-off. Wow. Started fading after an hour and a bit, but what an hour and a bit….This is what Bordeaux can only hope to be :) Did I say Wow?
WOW!!!! I had just a sip and was so excited about the flavor I dropped the entire bottle on the marble floor...... Please send me an entire case for my inconvenience !!!! My dog is now drunk and humping my leg!!!! Great stuff buddy my girlfriend is drinking from my dogs bowl..... ha Rated number one.... Good stuff

From Beringerrsquo;s impressive line of reserve bottlings. Remarkable for its intensity, richness, depth and concentration, this is a big yet elegant wine stuffed with complex currant, leather, spice, sage and cedar flavors that fan out on the palate. Tempting now, but probably best cellared into 1999 to 2001.
If you have given up on the 1989 vintage for California Cabernet, think again. Beringerrsquo;s 1989 Private Reserve is one of the stars of the vintage. Unlike many of the hollow, aggressively tannic 1989s, this dark-colored wine is loaded with rich, chocolatey, blackcurrant fruit, and spicy, toasty oak. Although it reveals harder tannin than is found in the 1990 and 1991, the tannin is not out of balance. This long, rich, full-bodied, impressively-endowed Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from 2ndash;3 more years of cellaring; it will keep for 15 more years.
Rich, dense and chewy, with ripe plum, blackberry, fresh earth and mineral flavors, framed by smoky, cedary oak. Intense and persistent, ending with a mix of cherry and currant fruit. The tannins are firm but ripe. Needs time. Best from 2009 through 2018.
Complex, and at an ideal drinking stage, with pretty plum, black cherry, currant, anise and spicy notes, finishing with firm, softening tannins and a nice dose of creamy oak. Drink now through 2007.
Ruby red. Highly nuanced nose combines currant, plum, smoky oak, minerals, licorice and mint. Wonderfully sweet, sappy and dense. The most complex of these '99 cabernets, with enticing flavors of currant, minerals and brown spices. Very long, slow-bu... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 1999 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve 750ml
Deep ruby. Lively aromas of cassis, licorice and violet. Sweet and lush but juicy, with a strong chocolatey character and excellent underlying backbone. Very densely packed cabernet, with suaver tannins than the Steinhauer or Lampyridae bottlings. Finishes with lingering licorice and bitter chocolate notes. A very successful blend: 70% from Howell Mountain, 14% St. Helena, 8% Mt. Veeder and 8% Spring Mountain.
A barrel sample of the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve suggests it is as impressive as the great efforts of 2001, 2002, and 2004. Opulent and fleshy with an inky/blue/purple hue, it offers up notes of lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, blackberries, chocolate, forest floor, and underbrush. It is a dense, voluptuously-textured offering that is both a hedonistic and intellectual turn-on that will drink well for 15 or more years.
