Beringer Lux Alluvium Blc 2006
One of the best white wines i have ever had. Great creaminess with a nice finish for a white. My first Semillion.
Medium body bordeaux type blend. Not as full bodied as I was expecting and is more bordeaux like than California. Soft tannins with sour cherry and smokiness. Needs time to open up.
Tasted at UNLVino 4/10/10
The Alluvium pours beautifully....rich almost viscous. The honeysuckle aroma from the Viognier wafts from the glass followed by pear, and citrus. Swirling the glass, the wine clings to the bowl forshadowing the viscocity and lush mouth feel. Peach and stone fruit, pear, vanilla; all linger with a long finish. Fabulous for a $15.00 wine.
This is a very nice California Bordeaux blend, including semillon (and even a little chardonnay!) which adds so much to the ubiquitous sauvignon blanc. Racy, somewhat light up front, it morphs into a delicious buttery finish which lasts up to 30 seconds. This is more flavorful and more complex than any of the actual Bordeaux whites in it's price range- a great value. Great with New England clam chowder.

Offers wonderful purity of fruit, with a rich, vibrant beam of tangerine, nectarine and subtle pear shadings. Finishes with a long, clean aftertaste, which shows a hint of sage. Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier. Drink now through 2011.
A bracing acidity and tart citrus, orange peel and peach flavors are pleasantly balanced with spice and campfire smoke nuances on a sleek frame, with a long finish. Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Chardonnay and Viognier. Drink now through 2013.
Beringer's twist on white Bordeaux, this Semillon and Sauvignon blend adds small amounts of Chard and Viognier to produce a tremendously invigorating white wine. Barrel fermented and aged on the lees, it's rich and exotic in custardy pineapple, fig, peach, apple, wildflower and vanilla spice flavors that finish with great length. Crisp and dry.
A wine that mimics a top white Graves is Beringer's 2005 Alluvium Blanc, a barrel-fermented blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon that represents terrific value. This honeyed effort possesses crisp acidity as well as loads of melon, fig and waxy lanolin characteristics. It can be enjoyed over the next year.
Plush and generous, with fine richness and depth to candied fig, melon, beeswax and dried hay flavors. Tangy quince and marshmallow-scented oak lingers on the finish. Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier. Drink now.
The excellent 2007 Alluvium Blanc, their white Bordeaux-like blend, is a superb value. Steely, honeyed citrus (grapefruit and lemon) notes as well as admirable fruit, medium body, and good minerality are present in this fresh, crisp white. This would be a sensational accompaniment to an assortment of cuisines, including the spiciest, most torrid Asian cooking. Beringer continues to turn out an impressive array of wines, proving that a gigantic global operation can be focused on quality and character.
