Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Wine 1991
For statisticians, 44% came from the Steinhauer Vineyard, 1% from Bancroft Ranch, 17% from Rancho del Oso, 3% from Chabot, 13% from St. Helena Home Ranch, 0% from Quarry Vineyard, and the balance from Marston Vineyard. Large-scaled yet elegant, it boasts classic notes of creme de cassis, chocolate, and smoky oak. With extraordinary voluptuousness, great concentration, tremendous intensity, and a finish that lasts nearly 60 seconds, this saturated purple-colored, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the greatest wines ever made at Beringer. It is a tribute to the brilliant Ed Sbragia.

Brimming with ripe complex youthful juicy plum black cherry chocolate currant and spicy fruit flavors. Very dark color excellent structure and depth of flavor. Finishes with a long complex aftertaste. Should last another decade with ease... Wine Spectator.
Production: 19 500 cases; Alcohol: 14%; Blend: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc; Harvest Dates: October 12 - November 11 The second largest production of Beringer s Private Reserve the 1991 came in just behind the 24 000 cases of the 1997. Interestingly these are among the greatest Private Reserves made and as Ed Sbragia told me it was just one of those perfect vintages. One of the longest and coolest growing seasons in the history of California it was marked by cool temperature
