Deep ruby-red. Blackberry, cassis, minerals, flowers, eucalyptus and a hint of game on the complex nose. Dense, layered and very rich, but bright and delineated. Really terrific fruit and firm underlying backbone. Finishes extremely long and powerful, with more than enough fruit to support substantial tannins. Stains the palate. Perhaps even richer than the superb '94 Bancroft Ranch merlot.
