Food Pairings for Beringer Cabernet Priv Reserve Rp
External Reviews for Beringer Cabernet Priv Reserve Rp
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve was grapy, unevolved, and primary when I tasted it. Nevertheless, it reveals loads of fruit as well as a big, heady, high glycerin style. I'm sure further barrel aging with bring forth some complexity,... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2002 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve 750ml
Rich and harmonious, offering a bright, supple core of cherry, currant, plum and spice flavors that turns smooth and silky before the fine tannins kick in. Tempting to drink now for all its fresh, young flavors, but has the depth and intensity to go through the decade. Try around 1996.
Dark red core with intense cherry red rim. There is loads of depth on the nose here, with very attractive aromas of cedar, cocoa powder, red currant and cassis, complemented by savory dried herbs, red florals, hints of vanilla and exotic spices. Only... Cory Gowan. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2002 Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve 750ml
Deep ruby. Lively aromas of cassis, licorice and violet. Sweet and lush but juicy, with a strong chocolatey character and excellent underlying backbone. Very densely packed cabernet, with suaver tannins than the Steinhauer or Lampyridae bottlings. Finishes with lingering licorice and bitter chocolate notes. A very successful blend: 70% from Howell Mountain, 14% St. Helena, 8% Mt. Veeder and 8% Spring Mountain.
What yoursquo;d expect from a producer like Beringer and a vintage like 1997. The only surprise is that wersquo;ve still got any. Striking for its poise and integration of flavors, the Reserve Cab is elegant and complex, playing broad swaths of dark, jammy fruit off of subtle layers of fennel, leather and soft new oak. A very accomplished Napa Cab.
In the hands of winemaker Ed Sbragia, Beringerrsquo;s Private Reserve Cabernet has reached the very highest echelon of Napa Valley wines. Sbragia has access to some of the finest growing sites in the valley, and he blended the ripe fruit for this wine into concentrated cassis flavors and a lush, lovely texture. Beringerrsquo;s Private Reserves are ready upon release, but are often best enjoyed five to ten years from the vintage. If you give this to a friend whorsquo;s just starting a collection, the gift will be remembered for many years to come.
From Beringerrsquo;s impressive line of reserve bottlings. Remarkable for its intensity, richness, depth and concentration, this is a big yet elegant wine stuffed with complex currant, leather, spice, sage and cedar flavors that fan out on the palate. Tempting now, but probably best cellared into 1999 to 2001.
