Benziger Family Winery Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley Shone Farm 2007

External Review by Shop Wine Direct:

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine ReviewRated 91Intensely grassy to the point of being a bit pungent, and charged with a wealth of very bright, slightly citrusy, green-melon fruit, this taut and incisively varietal wine may be a bit too much of a good thing to some but will delight those who champion the style. Long and cleansing yet always well-filled, it will shine as a partner to oysters or a bowl full of garlicky steamed mussels. It may be "of a style", but it is an out-and-out winner in that style.Wine Tasting Notes floral, bright wine with notes of citrus, tangerine, melon and papaya balanced with good minerality. Like a brilliant young string quartet.
