Benmarco Malbec 2010

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

Bright ruby-red. Licorice and exotic oak dominate the nose. Juicy and quite oaky, with chocolate, coffee bean and smoke flavors currently overshadowing the wineandrsquo;s fruit. Finishes dry and a tad medicinal, with firm tannins.

The philosophy is a simple one: grow great grapes and make wines that are true to their place. Minimal intervention during the growing season and through harvest allows the true fruit character to develop. Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The 2010 Malbec contains 10% Bonarda in its makeup and received the same elevage as the Cabernet. Lovely aromas of black cherry, spice box, tobacco, lavender, and earthy minerals inform the nose of a ripe, succulent, intensely flavored wine that offers outstanding value and is meant for drinking over the next 5andndash;7 years.
