What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Reviews

IWC Silver Medal.IWC Bronze Medal & Decanter Commended for 2003 vintage.13.5%abv. This wine is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on the slopes of the Barolo wine-making area, which is formed by eleven villages all located on the lower spurs of the Langhe. It's got plenty of fruit, big and powerful with great length. It's not as dry or as tannic as many typical Barolos which makes it more approachable for the amateur enthusiast. I personally found it delicious. Batasiolo Website

A bit of smoke, moderated fruitiness. Elegant balance. Perfect to drink now. Served with Roasted Mushroom, new garlic, asparagus, fresh rosemary and shrimp over pasta.
