Benessere Zinfandel St. Helena Estate 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

We are proud to have Bill and Kathy Collins as our neighbors and friends. Their vineyard, planted in 1922 by Chinese immigrants, is a living testimonial to California viticulture. These mature vines are gnarled yet statuesque, and produce a wine of great depth and elegance which bespeaks their heritage and origin. We are very blessed to be able to work with the fruit of this vineyard. This may be the best BK we've made to date! The elements were all there for this vintage: Small crop, perfect maturity and small, intensely flavored berries. The results are in the bottle; dark purple color alluding to the plums and blackberry jam apparent as the main aromatic components. The distinctly earthy flavors marry well with the fruit and spicy oak. It will age well for the next five to seven years. 476 cases produced.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
