A strong fruity nose slightly dry and quite acidic with a long sweet strawberry finish. Read more

This is really weird at first, with an initial whiff of something that resembles Worcestershire sauce or fish sauce that gains good covering fruit. It’s not off-putting or too intense, in fact it’s really attractive in a deeply savory way, though it is unusual. On entry this is round and moderately big with fine acid and some soft tannins building a base for a core of gently sweet raspberry/strawberry fruit. The savory, almost leather aspect of the wine is well integrated though offering nice underlying complexity on the palate. The finish is more strawberry flavored with a hint of citrussy acidity and a touch of grassiness on the finale. I rather like this and can see it working well with some Asian spiced duck dishes. Peking duck on the patio anyone? 87pts
