With time though this gives way to big fruit flavors and after much decanting the tannins reveal a nice acidity behind them with pure cherry and rapberry fruit. Chocolate, oak, and earthiness remain, and while this is a large mouthfull of wine it really develops with enough air into something read more...

From six select vineyard plots, all nearing 100 years of age and some ungrafted vines. Careful harvest and berry selection, malolactic in new American oak followed by 15 months in new French oak. Pure concentration and oak/mineral spice retains elegance and focus, a wine of great breed and long future.
