Winemaker's Notes:

Thin and drinking more like a Beaujolais than a Pinot, we're not sure what to think about this wine at this time.

Very nice pinot. Smooth with a nice finish. Very light in color but not weak in flavor. "Legs" are thin and watery. I normally prefer heavy, dark wines but this was excellent, especially for the price, which was under $20.

Lithe, supple and juicy, with raspberry and strawberry fruit. Picks up some real depth, with hints of mineral and toast, as the finish sails on and on. Impressive for its refinement coupled with brilliant flavors. Drink now through 2015.

Willamette Valley faced its share of challenges in 2005, but partners Steve Allen, Mike Magee and Joe Wright of Belle Vallee brought out the best in the vintage with this wine. After a classically cool and sometimes rainy growing season, the team harvested from eight vineyards around the region to make the final blend, a refined, supple wine with brilliant flavors.

While many wineries in Oregon are quite specific as to where their grapes come from, Belle Vallée strives for continuity of quality, year in and year out. You can count on getting a wine with consistently juicy red fruit, made in a fresh, appealing style.
