Belle Pente Pinot Gris Willamette Valley 2007
89 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): Reticent, slow-to-open bouquet hints at honeydew, white peach, mint and floral honey. Fleshy and smooth in texture, offering nicely concentrated melon and pit fruit flavors and slow-building spiciness. I like this wine's blend of richness and energy and would serve it with herb- and citrus-marinated chicken or fish. (Jul 2009)
Editorial Reviews for Belle Pente Pinot Gris Willamette Valley
Sweet fruit on the nose, great depth of aromatics, earthy, lightly honeyed. A little raw almond and sweet apple fruit with a white floral top note and a hint of licorice. Firmly round in the mouth but with fine clarity. Nice edge of bitter apple peels, nice underlying mineral acid. Still rather youthful with an edge of softness from age.
Sweet fruit on the nose with great depth of aromatics. An earthy, lightly honeyed style reveals a little raw almond, sweet apple fruit and white floral top note, all with a hint of licorice on the nose. In the mouth, this is firmly round but with fine clarity and a nice edge of bitter apple peels, supported by precise underlying mineral acid. Still rather youthful, though with an edge of softness from age. This is evolving slowly and with great balance. 90pts
