Here is another outstanding Belle Glos Pinot Noir, produced by none other than Caymus Vineyards. The Wagner Family purchased prime vineyard property for Pinot Noir including this lot in the Sonoma Coast Appellation. The vineyard gets so much cooling from the altitude and the ocean breezes that the vines are trellised to stretch out parallel to the ground in order to soak up maximum direct sunlight. And obviously it's a perfect science because the wine is intensely rich and flavorful. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this one 93 points saying "The best of Belle Glos' 2008 Pinots. It's notable for the extreme richness of the raspberries and cherries, which have a jammy intensity with even more succulent notes of vanilla cream and smoky butter. But the finish is dry, while acidity and tannins bring the wine to earth. Delicious now and through 2014." And of course the striking red wax capsule make a statement to the exceptional character of this limited production wine.

Ruby red core with a brilliant pink rim. The nose offers layers of spicy cherry compote, smoked cranberry and fresh herbs. Cherries and strawberries lead the way on the medium-bodied palate, bolstered by notes of wet gravel and mineral on the finish... Jeff Loo.
