Belle Glos Pinot Noir las Alturas Vineyard 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

"Dense, dark garnet color. Aromas of juicy dark fruit, moist soil, vanilla and coco burst out of the glass. The palate is so rich that it can almost be chewed on. Flavors of pie filling, plum, cured meats and root beer enliven the senses. This wine has structural integrity with great depth. The balanced acidity leads to a provocatively supple finish." -Winery

For the price it's hard to beat. Mellow and deep. Somewhat smokey. Will definitely try it again.

Well-orchestrated rich tight dark and reliant on creamy espresso-laced oak this is fun to drink. If oak is your catnip this is about as good as it gets. Drink now through 2022. J.L. Wine Spectator.
