Pleasantly powerful fruit palate of cherry, strawberry & pomegranate, with intriguing earthy notes of forest mushroom, and a hint of spice. Good typical PN character, but lacking complexity, and comes at a high price in Canada ($33)

Juicy, sugary, and lacking any complexity. Disappointing even at $16.99, it's possible that had it been a blind tasting, I would have thought it was a $6.99 Pinot, or not even a Pinot at all, perhaps a weak-flavored Syrah.

I don't like this style of Pinot Noir. However, I realize that there are many wine drinkers who like this. It is just too jammy and lush for my taste.

This is a wonderful California Pinot Noir it drinks like $40.00 or $50.00 wine it's really tasty. It has that perfume smell like a burgundy, fruity taste like oregon and strength like a typical california wine. I haven't had a Pinot Noir as good as this one for $19.99

Winemaker's Notes - Bright, deep garnet color. Aromas of cola, blackberries and a sweet cedar note. A greatly layered palette abundant in flavor and texture. The first entry incases the mouth with a velvety richness. Then the wine unloads with flavors of bright cherry, cola, dried leaves undertoned with vanilla, leather and high style oak. The many layers emerge independently, then refocus while the supple tannins carry the wine through to a lingering, succulent finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

Not yet reviewed; PinotFile on the 2008 vintage: 13.9% alc., 65% Sonoma County, 20% Monterey County,15% Santa Barbara County. Pronounced 'May-OH-mee,' which is 'coast' in the language of California's Wappo tribe. Intensely fruity and penetrating nose with effusive scents of ripe dark berries accented with notes of sandalwood, oak and cigar box. A rich, but smooth and caressing wine in the mouth, with a multilayered core of berries and a complimentary underpinning of toasty oak. The soft tannins make for easy drinkability and this wine is far more approachable than any of the three vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs from Belle Glos. This Pinot really shows off California coastal fruit, is one of the best values in California Pinot Noir on the market today, and is the best California appellation Pinot Noir bar none.
