Winemaker's Notes:

Fruit from our Alexander Valley property was picked and delivered to the winery and crushed at optimal ripeness. Each varietal was fermented and aged separately in a combination of French and American oak barrels, with 20% new oak.

Tasting Notes:

The 2008 Hillside cuvee is a substantial blend that perfectly balances the spiciness of syrah with the big, dark texture of cabernet. Aromas of ripe, spicy fruit and toasty vanilla are evident in the bouquet, with flavors of sweet dark berry and licorice. This wine is lush and velvety on the palate with a finish that remains long after the first sip.
