Rating: 90/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Here is another nicely crafted wine from Bell. Its curranty, briary varietal aromas are met by enriching notes of roasted vanilla and a bare whiff of green olive and are followed on the palate by a full-bodied, fairly supple wine with attractive flavors that echo all that has gone before. Tannin tightens the wine towards the back and asks a half decade of cellaring.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.

Rating: 91/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Clone 6 is an old version of Cabernet Sauvignon that was found in a former research vineyard up in the Sierra Foothills. It is planted in both the Georges III vineyard in the middle of the Rutherford flatlands and in the Beaulieu's vineyards, and it has done well in both locations. This wine shows all the curranty, slightly berryish potential of the clone along with varietal nuances of black olives and briar. Its body is full, its texture is supple and its flavors are rich and concentrated. It is a big and balanced wine at every stop and will age famously because of it.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.

Rating: 87/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Its cepage may seem a bit unusual, but Syrah is finding its way into Cabernet-based blends with increasing regularity, often to very good advantage. Here, it adds a whiff of boysenberry to its host and helps fill out a slight tendency to slenderness in this effort's flavors. The result is a full-bodied wine with enough at its heart to carry the day.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.

eep ruby in color, has rich, ripe cherry, cassis and blackberry fruit aromas. Soft tannins and sweet oak combine with a gentle hint of pepper and spice to yield a full-bodied wine with excellent balance and a long lingering finish. The different Cabernet clones give the wine a multi-layered dimension to the palate. The long growing season at the Truchard Vineyard in the cool Carneros district yields grapes with deep color and great natural acidity.
