Seems to me 12 months in new French oak was too much. I love the fruit in this, but it's so heavily extracted, hot, and over-oaked that it takes a very long time to open. Decant overnight and serve with braised beef.

Ruby-red. Vibrant nose and palate combine blackberry, cassis, pepper and bitter chocolate, lifted by a violet topnote. Concentrated, sweet and juicy, with lovely texture and inner-mouth perfume. Sexy sweet oak tones add appeal. Finishes with suave, fine-grained tannins and very good lift and length. This firmly built wine should age nicely.
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast A deep, concentrated wine with a touch of raisin and latex on the nose. The palate is deep and pure, with cola, chocolate and pure berry flavors, and the finish has great
Medium ruby. Reticent aromas and flavors of dark berries, licorice, bitter chocolate and spicy oak. Juicy, supple and fruit-driven, with a pliant texture, a restrained sweetness and good depth to the middle palate. Finishes with good lingering fruit and sweet tannins. A very suave malbec bottling.
AR Guentota is Cuyo's soul in the language of the Huarpes Indians, the first inhabitants of Mendoza river valley's Cuyo region. This wine is lush, with juicy dark berry, plum and raisin flavors alo
Quite toasty and black, with baked plum, berry and crusty, oaky aromas. The palate is sort of soft and lazy, but amid the thickness there's roasted plum and black cherry flavors. Finishes with some wayward buttery oak, heat and coffee notes. Chewy, ripe and a bit grabby and heavy. - M.S. ** SOLD OUT **
