- ($60; 15.4% alcohol; blended with 20% merlot) Bright ruby. Superripe aromas of cassis and black cherry liqueur, bitter chocolate and fruit cake; just this side of porty. Rich, lush and dense; a step up in concentration over the foregoing wines from Bordeaux varieties. But this dense, chocolatey wine also shows accurate cabernet character and more inner-mouth energy, thanks to sound acidity. Sweet, full and deep wine with a very long, ripely tannic finish.
