User Reviews for Bedrock Napa Valley Zinfandel

Winemaker's Notes:

Score: N/A Tasting Notes: The first appellation Zinfandel from Bedrock! The backbone of this wine comes from the 92 year old vines at Morse Vineyard in Glen Ellen. A puncheon each of fruit from Rossi Ranch in Kenwood, Topolos Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain, the rocky and dramatically terraced Los Chamizal Vineyard, and a barrel each of Bedrock Zinfandel and Stellwagen Vineyard complete the blend. This is powerful but elegant stuff, and like most Bedrock offerings, avoids the over-ripeness and lunkiness of many Zin’s out there. The hope here is to show the spice, structure, and dramatic aromatics and mouthfeel found in great Sonoma Valley Zinfandel at a very friendly tariff. 18% new French oak, along with a few once-used puncheons.
