The product of a warm, low-yielding vintage with an earlier than normal harvest, the 2004 Estate Syrah offers good structure, nice acidity and tremendously evolved aromatics compared to the tighter 2003 vintage. It begins with dark berry and vanilla aromas and hints of pepper and spice, while on the palate it delivers deep blackberry character with an accompanying freshness derived from the natural acidity. Round and fruit forward, this Syrah offers silky tannins and a long finish. Crafted from all Purisima Mountain Vineyard fruit, this approachable wine has the potential to age for 7 to 8 years.
