Spicy and herbal on the nose with hints of sandalwood and dried herbs along with a hint of vanilla over raspberry, blueberry and blackberry fruit. Very frutti del bosco here. Bright and lively on entry and very much in the style of a top Cots du Rhone. This has no fat to obscure the very pretty strawberry, herb and floral notes on entry, deepening to include dark cherry and plum flavors on the back end, all enlivened by lovely late arriving acids. The finish is a bit tight still, with tannins that appear out of nowhere, but this already a lot of fun and the perfect wine for a nice steak frites. 89pts

Classic rhone-clone from California...Beckmen is notorious for creating structured, fruit-driven, lengthy wines with this blend. TOP blended wine in my opinion coming out of the new world! ~F.P. - Cellar Tracker 92 Points The vintage of 2010 brought cooler temperatures to our region, which allowed for longer hangtime, lower alcohols and pristine acidity. The Syrah for this blend was harvested throughout October. The Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise were harvested by hand in mid-to-late November. The end result is a fresh and vibrant cuvée, with softer tannins that add to the satisfying nature of this wine. - WinerypH: 3.54 Total acidity: 6.1 g/L Alcohol: 14.0%

Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of grenache, syrah, mourvedre and counoise. The aromatics jump out of the glass, with enticing cherry pie, currant, pomegranate, lavender and licorice layers. On the palate, the currant flavors are repeated, alongside elements of plum, cranberry,
