Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of Beaux Fréres Vineyard fruit and purchased fruit from the Muirfield Vineyard, this full-bodied, boisterous, dense, strongly-flavored Pinot noir. Deep ruby/garnet-colored, it offers up notes of earth, herbs, sassafras, forest, currant and plums. In the mouth, flavors of Allspice and cinnamon make for a premier cru Gevrey-Chambertin-like style. It has dropped some of its rustic tannin, which gave it 'savage' and was the reason for calling it "The Wild Thing". But blending and time in the bottle has tamed this beast as it has already evolved to a medium-bodied Pinot Noir dominated more by spice, cola, and sassafras notes than the typical blackberry fruit of our Beaux Frères vineyard
