Beaulieu Hughes Picpoul de Pinet 2007

Member Review by imnotjust:

Is this a complex wine? No, or then. Wait a minute. This wine is best served with seafood especially oysters. An old world grape full of rich minerality in its finish with enough acidity to stand up to foods seemingly much too rich for it. It's surprisingly delicious as an apertif. Heck, I had some with some comte and it was perfect. For $9 a bottle it's hard to beat if you are like me not a fan of big fruit but rather more into food pairings and long finishes. It's a four star wine but gets the other half star for its value, as it has become our house wine.
