Blends ripe, fleshy plum and black cherry flavors with a subtle backbone of acidity and tannins. Slow to unfold, but does so gracefully, revealing dusty earth, cedar and black licorice in an elegant style. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2018. 18,000 cases made. -JL The 2008 Reserve Tapestry comes across as a bit leaner than the 2009. I have a preference for the 2009 here. Mint, licorice, grilled herbs and plums are some of the notes that linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Weaving together five classic varietals, our 2008 Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve Tapestry begins with deep, briary blackberry and cassis character from Cabernet Sauvignon. Velvety black-cherry character comes from a generous blending of Merlot, while Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot add violet, licorice, forest loam and graphite nuances, as well as deep hues and texture.
