One of the most prestigious wines in California, the 1994 version shows an impressive core of spicy currant and mineral-laced Cabernet flavors emerging from chewy tannins, picking up cedary oak, coffee and sage notes. Most enjoyable if cellared into 1999 to 2004.
Ripe, round and smooth, with a core of coffee, currant, sage, cedar and spice. Gains nuance and complexity on the finish where the flavors run deep ad polished. Drink now through 2008.
Dark cherry red appearance. Medium-bodied. Highly extracted. Moderately tannic. Cassis, cherries, brown spice. Full toasty nose leads a dusty mouthful of concentrated layered red fruit flavors with generous oak spice notes lingering. Not fleshy, but still very generous and structured in its proportions.
Good ruby-red. Cassis and blackberry fruitiness complicated by cedar and coconut oak notes. Juicy and tightly wrapped, but quite suave, with excellent concentration and nicely integrated oak. Opened in the glass to show a lovely silky texture. Long, firmly tannic finish. A strong vintage for this wine.
Medium-bodied and mildly tannic with cassis, cherries and brown spice. A full toasty nose lead a mouthful of red fruit flavors with generous oak to lingering spice notes.
Complex and harmonious with a pretty core of ripe plum, cherry and currant flavors and shades of cedary oak and herb. Fruity flavors remain on the finish.
Gushing with berry and new wood character - perhaps a bit too much - but it's rich and powerful, with lots of good tannins and a long finish. Definitely a modern-style Napa Cab. Best after 2006.
