Beaujolais Villages Mdc Geen Rode Wijn Frankrijk Château de Pizay Beaujolais Young Charly Bvba 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Raptor Ridge celebrates 9 vintages of quality fruit from Shea Vineyard with the 2004 bottling. Located about 5 miles east of Yamhill, Oregon, the Shea vineyard was planted in 1988 by Dick Shea, a financier from Connecticut. Dick chose to plant both Pommard and Wadenswil Pinot Noir clones, as well as a small quantity of Clone 108 Chardonnay. He concluded planting in 1989, with about 80 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a small quantity of Pinot Gris. Shea's well-drained Willakenzie soil type and the meticulous care of the vines by Dick's vineyard manager, Javier Marin, yield spectacular fruit that is sought after by many winemakers. Raptor Ridge's Shea offering is certainly one of the finer examples of how great Shea fruit can be. A deep garnet color, the 2005 Shea has a lovely nose of rose petal and white peach, with inviting layers of all manner of ripe cherry fruits. It is luxurious across the palate, yet possesses enough acidity to bolster the fruit for a decade. Fresh fruit flavors of ripe bing cherry, caramel, and hints of earth. Drink from 2007 to 2015.

Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
