What to Expect

The Gamay grape finds it's home in France's Burgundy region where it is responsible for the red wines of Beaujolais. Producing light to medium bodied wines with modest tannins and good acidity, Gamay is unfairly associated with Beaujolais Nouveau. It is capable of producing wonderful, cherry and raspberry flavored wines with earthy hints of violets and spice.

This wine is an irresistibly lively pink-hued ruby red in the glass, a color that captures the spirit of the wine. On the nose and palate, the wine gives plenty of juicy Gamay fruit along with a healthy dose of granite mineral on the finish. The name "Lutine" means "little elfin girl" - which seems an apt image to associate with this light, joyous wine. The estate farms sustainably with no chemical pesticides, and uses only natural yeasts.

Smoky minerality with a petticoat of cherry.
I love the minerally nose on this wine. As the wind blows through my window, wafts of fruit rise from the glass.
There's mouth-watering acidity and silk, with fruit that lingers and finishes dry.
