Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape 2004
Winemaker's Notes:
Grenache just edges Mourvedre this year, with 32 and 30 % respectively but both
make their presence felt in a wine that has energetic savoury grip and
deliciously ripe approachable fruit. The other 11 varietals are, as always
present and correct but it is the tension between the sweet fruit of the
Grenache and the tannic structure of the Mourvedre which define the quality of
this wine. A velvet fist in an iron glove.

A dark and opulent purple/black core with bright notes of violet and fuchsia flaring up at the rim. Intense, full and dark on the nose with dominating cherry and cassis aromas. The amazing burst of fruit is balanced by cooler earthy notes with hints ... Mike Supple. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2004 Beaucastel, Chateau Chateauneuf du Pape 1500ml

This red wine is incredibly rich with tremendous spice, licorice, blackberries and pepper on the palate. A full-bodied wine with velvet-textured tannins and incredible structure. A wine that's made for the cellar if you're patient but most people we know enjoy this regal red for it's youthful profile.
