Ed and Trish Snider, owners of Beau Vigne, have three sons and a daughter. Ed was born and raised in the Napa Valley. Ed was the head football coach for St. Helena High School located in the heart of the Napa Valley, a small town of about four thousand. He coached and mentored in the 90’s many young men who now are very involved in the Napa Valley wine industry. Ed and Trish think of many of their players as extended family. The Sniders bought the property in 2002 and named the ranch Stags Ridge Vineyard, a vista overlooking Stags Leap. Stags Ridge is now over eight acres of Cabernet, clone 337 and one acre of Cabernet Franc and petite Verdot (Trish's Garden). Stags Ridge Vineyard sits at about 1,350 feet altitude in the Atlas Peak appellation on the eastern edge of Napa. Stag’s Ridge has become known as a very unique vineyard recognized in the valley as a very special place. You know you have a great vineyard when The Top Cabernet cult labels inquire about purchasing our little piece of Heaven, and we have to keep telling them, "Not for sale." We know what a special vineyard we have (and so do they!). Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

WA 94 Pts - According to Robert Parker - The less expensive 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet (76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc from the parcel they called Juliet s Bench) shows off winemaker Dave Phinney s terrific, sexy, opulent, flamboyant style. Personality-wise, it is more like a 2007 than a 2008. Dense purple to the rim, with glorious notes of graphite and black cherry liqueur intermixed with cassis and blackberry, it possesses a subtle smokiness, a voluptuous texture, and a layered finish that should please both your hedonistic and intellectual senses. It will drink well for 15 or more years. This is one of my favorite unheralded producers in Napa Valley. The wines have off-the-charts richness, great balance, and the potential (at least in the case of the Juliet and the Reserve) to be aged for 20 or more years. There is a striking purity and intensity to these wines that merits serious attention.
