Baus Family Vineyards Sonoma Mountain Zinfandel 2009
External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:
A wine of large stature that still maintains some semblance of elegance, the 2008 Baus Family Zinfandel picks up right where the last vintage left off. Filled with complex and generous flavors of blueberry and loganberry, the wine finishes almost creamy with a hint of dark chocolate.

This vineyard sits above the fog line mdash; and well above the benchmark for great Zins! Bold mountain fruit and flavors of brambleberries and grape jam, with the right touch of exotic spices and black pepper. The finish is long and luscious, with wild berries and velvety tannins. Serve it up with rigatoni in a sausage ragu, strip steak with Borsin and a Zin sauce, or roasted eye-of-round with fresh steamed green beans and twice-baked potatoes.

Rich and tasty, this Sonoma Zinfandel is wonderfully fragrant with ripe dark berries and warm spices. Jammy black raspberry and black cherry flavors are enhanced by black pepper and soft tannins. The wine is wonderfully balanced with a long lasting finish. Pair this wine with spicy chicken cacciatore.
