Batard Montrachet Bernard Moreau 92-94bh 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"It certainly displays very fine intensity on the nose, although the delineation will only surface once the wine has been completed. The palate is tense on the entry with piercing citric acidity to the point where you could almost describe it as “shrill." But it is not unbalanced and is simply rather penetrating in the mouth. It delivers an enchanting marine note - suggestions of shucked oyster shell toward the finish...91-93" WA 12/14 "A complex and highly layered nose features notes of acacia blossom, spiced pear, green apple and a hint of the exotic that is trimmed in soft oak nuances. The rich, full and powerful big-bodied flavors brim with dry extract that coats the mouth on the driving and muscular finish that stains the palate and delivers seriously good length. This too will need at least 4 to 5 years to develop depth but the potential is clearly here to reward all of a decade and perhaps a few years more...92-94" BH 06/15 "Wet stone and menthol dominate the nose. Chewy and vinous but tighter at present and less harmonious than the Grandes Ruchottes. In a powerful style but not thick or heavy. The echoing finish is salty and dry. This will need time in bottle...92+?" Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media 09/15
