Best Pinot Noir under 20. Hanging Vine 08 is good too (but not as good). I first had this Noir at The Odeon in TriBeCa, where it's the by-the-glass Pinot (they have six Pinots on the bottle menu). It's very delicate and very pleasing. The palate has a slight hint of black tea, then it drops like a bass note to a dark fruit, then it holds, then finishes a bit quickly. Good palate. Some complexity and depth. A slightly disappointing finish (for a wine that's otherwise very nice). Good with a beef ragu and pasta, but overwhelmed by a hanger steak. Probably very nice with duck and chicken. I just took the subway up about seventy blks to the Upper West Side to buy three bottles.
