Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 2003

Winemaker's Notes:

Despite the 42 degree temperatures in Barolo in 2003, Maria-Teresa Mascarelloevidently managed to harvest some beautiful fruit, for the colour retains arich red cherry colour; the nose a fresh, seductive griottes kirsch perfumewhile the palate's crunchy and alive with redcurrant/cherry flavours. Stillprimary, it would benefit from being drunk from 2011, along with some veal. (David Berry Green, BBR Buyer)

The members of the Giuseppe Mascarello family have been growing wines for more than a century and a half, first as farmers running the Manescotto estate in the village of La Morra for the marchesa Giulia Colbert Faletti di Barolo, and then on their own property since the late 1800s.
