Bartolo Mascarello Barbera d'Alba Vigna San Lorenzo 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

A hugely seductive nose of black cherry liqueur, cinnamon and dried fruits, and citrus zest. Beautifully silky on the palate, but with impressive structure, too. Ripe fruit and crisp aidity balnces harmoniously o the impressively long finish. A magnificent Barbera!

A little liquory on the nose with nuanced notes of roasty, smoky plumy fruit. Soft and rich on entry, this exhibits lovely purity to the plum skin fruit that gains some subtle stem and spice notes on the backend. This shows fine length with lovely balance that reveals fine cut to the fruit from the acidity without this becoming overtly acidic in the mouth. Elegant for Barbera. 91pts
