Darkest black cherry in color. A preserved, somewhat cooked nose - typical of heavily extracted Shiraz numbers from Oz. Exceedingly vinous on the forward palate with almost no hard tannins remaining; coca-cola, cherry phosphate and Maraschino Cherry notes on the flavor profile. Medium to longish finish. Excellent BBQ wine but somewhat overdone - if that is the proper word...

Medium-bodied, but intense and long, with lovely definition to the black cherry and plum fruit, showing no hint of thickness or sweetness; fine tannins sustain the long finish. James Halliday. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2004 Barossa Valley Estate Ebenezer Shiraz 750ml

This is one of Australia's top sparkling Shirazes, and this will be the first vintage it's being imported to the U.S. in commercial quantity (150 cases). It's chocolaty and rich, with flavors of brandied cherries and brown sugar. Drink now-2010. - J... Wine Enthusiast. Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Spectator Review Rated 93 Firm in texture and aromatically dramatic, with smoky, roasted coffee overtones to the blackberry, black cherry and tiny hint of tarragon as the flavors linger expressively. This has great structure and balance, but just needs time. Best after 2011.
