Barone Fini Pinot Grigio Valdadige 2017

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Appley and slightly sweet smelling with notes of mint and orange, adding some complexity. This is fairly round on entry with just enough RS to add that soft edge and reinforce the deeply fruity nature of this wine. There’s a lot to like here. Though the wine does lack some crispness, it delivers plenty of peachy fruit with a light hint of orange and enough acidity to keep this fresh. There’s not much of a finish beyond that acid zing, but this is fun. 86pts

Pencil shavings on the nose. Crisp, floral, and very mineral in the mouth.

Light, straw color. A nose of citrus and pear. Light bodied with a strong apple taste that dominates the other subtle tastes of tropical fruit, pear, and lime. Refreshing and nice with pasta not much there if your drinking it alone.

Got this as a "dinner gift" at Christmas. A simple Pinot Grigio.

Winemaking: Barone Fini leverages winemaking practices in a manner as natural as possible and with little human interference. All of the fruit for Barone Fini is sourced from 25-30 year old vines and is hand harvested to ensure that only the best fruit is used. Vinified in an ultra-modern winery located atop the ruins of an ancient Roman winery, Barone Fini adheres to the highest standards of production. Tasting Notes: Aromas of subtle floral notes and lemon mist. Round fruit fills the mouth with ripe, juicy flavors of honeydew melon and ripe apples. Bright acidity balanced with warm minerality create a lingering, crisp finish. Food Pairing: This incredibly versatile wine can be enjoyed alone, as an aperitif, or paired with a variety of cuisines, like seafood, pasta, and poultry. Its crisp, balanced acidity also makes it a great accompaniment to dishes with heavy sauces and bold flavors. Alcohol: 12.5%

Soft, round fruit fills the mouth with ripe, juicy flavors. A long finish glides into flavors of ripe apples and lichee nuts. A wine to be enjoyed alone, as an ap?ritif, or with shellfish, fowl and light meals that include vegetarian dishes.

A crisp, dry wine from northern Italy, it is fresh and fruity with a flowery bouquet. A perfect accompaniment to light dishes or by itself, as an excellent aperitif.

Soft and round with ripe juicy flavors, Barone Fini Pinot Grigio is a refreshing and expressive wine. The family wine making history goes back six centuries and today is done in the most modern style. All of their wines are entirely grown and produced in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Northern Italy and their hillside Pinot Grigio vineyards average 25 to 30 years of age. Following all the strict guidelines of the Italian DOC, grapes are all hand picked and sorted manually before fermentation. Crushing and fermentation take place in a state-of-the-art winery under careful temperature controlled conditions. This is quality DOC Pinot Grigio at the the price of IGT. Great value.

Lightly spiced and aromatic, offering hints of apricot, cantaloupe and anise. There's good tangy acidity to this, making it an easy-sipper for a hot day. Drink now.

Pale and bright in the glass. The nose presents candied lemon, minerality and a light floral component. The palate is clean and crisp with flavors of citrus, apple, peach skin and underlying salinity. Light bodied but ripe, the acidity keeps it vibra... Elizabeth Becker.
