Winemaker's Notes:
95% Tempranillo with a small percentage of Mazuelo (5%), from our vineyards on the San Martín Estate. The ageing process started in May-June, 2005, divided equally into American oak casks an average of two years old and new French oak casks. The wine was aged in the cask for two years, during which time it was racked four times using the traditional cask-to-cask method.

The emotion and enthusiasm involved in creating a winery was hindered by something a little more pedestrian, the day-to-day running, always difficult and risky. Finally, Leandro Vázquez decided to leave the business, a more than tempting legacy for those seeking new horizons in La Rioja. This situation coincided with the desire of La Rioja Alta, S.A. to complement its traditional style with a new wine, totally independent and different from the Haro sanctuary. Some changes were made after the purchase was completed in January, 1995, focused more on improving and enhancing what was already there than on changing the château philosophy and the modern and powerful wine initially produced by Barón de Oña, S.A.
