Barolo Cannubi Marchesi di Barolo 94js 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

94 Points, James Suckling: 'The aromas are complex and impressive with hazelnut, cocoa, light plum and cherry. Hints of flowers. Full and velvety texture yet fresh and very fine. Subtle finish. So balanced that it's wonderful to drink now but will be even better in three or four years." 11/16. 90 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous:"The 2012 Barolo Cannubi is the most complete and convincing of these 2012 Barolos from Marchesi di Barolo. It also shows the level the house is capable of. Ripe, silky and sensual, the 2012 fleshes out with striking finesse and nuance, in both its flavors and texture. This is one of the most delicate, impeccably balanced Barolos I have tasted from Marchesi in quite some time." 11/16 Garnet-red in color with ruby reflections. Intense perfume with clean scent of roses, vanilla, licorice, spices and toasted oak. Gentle notes of absinth. The flavor is full and elegant, good-bodied and austere with recurring olfactory sensations. The spicy note and the hints of wood blend perfectly. - Winery Notes
