Barolo Bric del Fiasc Scavino 95ag 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

95 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media: “The 2006 Barolo Bric del Fiasc is a dramatic, sweeping wine that bursts onto the palate in a powerful expression of this Castiglione Falletto vineyard. Dark red fruits, smoke and grilled herbs are just some of the nuances that come to life as this imposing, focused Barolo opens up in the glass. Today, the wine is a touch austere, but in a few years the structure should fill out nicely. It is impossible to ignore the sheer pedigree and class here.” 02/10 94-Points, Wine Spectator: "A rich, sumptuous Barolo, laced with cherry, plum and mineral aromas and flavors. Complex and well-structured, with a long, fruit- and spice-filled aftertaste. Best from 2013 through 2030. 900 cases imported." 3/11. 94-Points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellars: "Dark red. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, violet, licorice and menthol; lovely modern-style Barolo. Sweet and lush in the mouth, with a firm spine of acidity serving to frame and intensify the sweet, juicy dark fruit flavors. Still a baby but already beautifully detailed. Very long on the aftertaste, with the tannins melting into the fruit." 11/09.
