The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain (2,411 cases) exhibits a big, spicy, smoky nose with plenty of plum, raisin, and black currant fruit. Evolved and complex, with a supple texture as well as resiny pine forest notes intermixed with black currants and sweet cherries, this distinctive, singular Cabernet may be controversial, but it will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 5-7 years.
The flagship offering the deep ruby/purple-tinged 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill (451 cases) boasts a terrific perfume of black currants flowers earth and spice. With a structured full-bodied mouthfeel this brilliant pure noble Cabernet is very long in the mouth. It is still extremely young and far less evolved than its siblings.
