Barkan Pinot Noir Classic Kosher 2006

Member Review by hershey:

Not bad for a $10 pinot, but not worth much more. There were nice forest berries here, with a lot of acidity. Leave this one open or decant and let sit for an hour or two - it will meld in the oak and acid and make this a good/fair strong pinot.

Barkan:
The origins of Barkan go back to the 19th century but they moved into their modern winery at Hulda Kibbutz in 2000. They have 2000 acres of vineyards spread over Israel and produce around 10 million bottles a year, mainly single variety wines and all kosher

This Pinot Noir is soft and smooth on the palate, with berry aromas and black cherry fruit. Perfect with veal or grilled salmon.
