Barefoot Riesling Wine Wine Red Zinfandel Red Zinfandel 2008

I liked it, but the ability to drink it quickly resulted in an immediate buzz. It seemed more like a pinot gris than a riesling...more apple tart, than taste of honey on the finish. I combined it with lemonade and it worked well to temper the alcohol. $5 isn't bad, but it's rather like a LaBatt Blue beer...a little better than Budweiser, but still a beer for the American palate.

Not as fruity as most rieslings I've tried, actually pretty strong alcohol flavors. But it was good for its price range.

Didn't care for at all. Too dry and not as sweet as their Moscato.

Well... I didn't necessarily dislike it but it wasn't what I was expecting when I first tried it so my rating is skewed. After trying the Barefoot moscato, I thought I would be adventurous (and yes, I mean adventurous in my novice world of wine). I love the Loosen variations. This one is not as sweet, a little more dry, still light and fruity but a little more of a lingering aftertaste of something between apricot and oak. It's the oak I am not so keen on yet. It's not bad. It's good for the white wine offering at a gathering or to serve to other novice drinkers but I wouldn't expect experienced drinkers to enjoy this as much.

A tasty Riesling for a low price.

This Riesling has a tart flavor with a light aftertaste. The apple and grape are very clear. It is quite sweet. It is great to have around for light meals.
