Barefoot Riesling Premier NV

Winemaker's Notes:

This light-bodied and refreshingly sweet wine hits all the right fruit-filled notes: delicate orange blossom, juicy apple and tangy lemon.

We got our start as a "garage wine" back in the Sixties but really stepped up what Barefoot was about in 1986 when Michael Houlihan and partner Bonnie Harvey decided to relaunch the brand. The two of them, along with the first Barefooter, Randy Arnold, believed in making and selling wine that was both delicious and affordable and that could be enjoyed by everyone from first-time wine-consumers to hard-core aficionados. We believe that we can both promote our brand and satisfy our desire to make the world a better place by partnering with various non-profits and pouring at various fund-raising events. Over the years, Barefoot has been a part of thousands of non-profit events and our popularity has grown along with our support of these ground-breaking organizations. We took another big step in 2006 by becoming a sponsor of the Association of Volleyball Professions (AVP) Beach Volleyball supporting a grassroots sport that originated in our state-California. We’ve also teamed up with the grass roots non-profit, the Surfrider Foundation, to create the Barefoot Beach Rescue Project, designed to clean up beaches and ensure they are "Barefoot friendly." These two initiatives help us spread a sense of fun in the sun while furthering the Barefoot philosophy of giving back. Over the years, our wines have garnered numerous accolades and professional awards, but more importantly to us, we have a growing circle of loyal fans who love to enjoy our wine and who have joined us in the spirit of giving back to our communities and to our world. For us, and we hope for all of you, that’s an achievement well worth toasting with a glass of Barefoot wine. Read less

Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

I loved this wine. I consistently go to barefoot as a 'grocery store wine' and when I saw they had a Riesling I tried it and was very pleasantly surprise! This is now my favorite of Barefoot's wines and one of my favorite wines under 10$ .

Exactly the sweet treat I was looking for! Great entry wine for a dumbass like me. This site is terrible, but I need a way to keep track of my wines. You have no idea what you are rating on here! 5,000 entries for the same wine, but no one is running this crap, so it doesn't seem to matter.

This goes into the mouth sweet, crisp, and bright. It almost tastes like drinking green apples. There is a very nice balance of sweet and sour with perhaps a tiny hint of vanilla. It was great with spicy food. I didn't taste the advertised "tropical citrus fruits," "luscious peach," or "hints of orange blossom," but this is probably due to my lack of experience more than anything. After a couple tastes, I was reminded of why Barefoot is consistently my favorite overall winery. This wine is great through and through and very easy to drink.

I bought this bottle because I was in the mood for something refreshing. Be careful what you wish for, that's exactly what I got. Barefoots riesling is not a wine for conisuers as the bottle is a screw top. The boquet of green apple & peach were dominant. This wine had maybe 3 visable legs on the whole glass. However, to someone who drinks wine as commonly as I do, this wouldn't be a bad choice to serve to inexperienced guests as a refreshment on a hot day, It's better than water.

An excellent bottle of wine for the price. Perhaps I'm ridiculous but when it comes to Rieslings, my indulgence is just a hint of apple juice. To many a wine drinker this may be horribly taboo but for a $6.99 bottle of wine, I find my choices and enjoyment of this little indulgement to be utterly and completely inarguable.

Barefoot Riesling is tropical and juicy and has peach and jasmine aromas that delight before the first sip. Juicy nectarine and pear flavors complement the lingering sweet citrus and honey finish. Zesty! Serve chilled! Barefoot Riesling pairs well with fresh fruits, veggies and cheese. Serve with sushi, teriyaki and tempura dishes. Enjoy with spicy chicken tacos and green sauce enchiladas. Enjoy with friends!

Kudos to Gallo for letting people know this wine is sweet. That avoids a lot of confusion. The honey, tangerine and peach flavors are balanced with lots of zesty acidity. Delightful, and a great bargain.
