Southeast Asia Sesame Chicken Salad featuring RiceSelect™ Texmati® White Rice
To beautifully enhance the exotic aroma and nutty flavor of RiceSelect™ Texmati® White Rice, choose Southeast Asian flavors paired with Riesling Wines
I liked it, but the ability to drink it quickly resulted in an immediate buzz. It seemed more like a pinot gris than a riesling...more apple tart, than taste of honey on the finish. I combined it with lemonade and it worked well to temper the alcohol. $5 isn't bad, but it's rather like a LaBatt Blue beer...a little better than Budweiser, but still a beer for the American palate.

Well... I didn't necessarily dislike it but it wasn't what I was expecting when I first tried it so my rating is skewed. After trying the Barefoot moscato, I thought I would be adventurous (and yes, I mean adventurous in my novice world of wine). I love the Loosen variations. This one is not as sweet, a little more dry, still light and fruity but a little more of a lingering aftertaste of something between apricot and oak. It's the oak I am not so keen on yet. It's not bad. It's good for the white wine offering at a gathering or to serve to other novice drinkers but I wouldn't expect experienced drinkers to enjoy this as much.
A tasty Riesling for a low price.
This Riesling has a tart flavor with a light aftertaste. The apple and grape are very clear. It is quite sweet. It is great to have around for light meals.
I loved this wine. I consistently go to barefoot as a 'grocery store wine' and when I saw they had a Riesling I tried it and was very pleasantly surprise! This is now my favorite of Barefoot's wines and one of my favorite wines under 10$ .
External Reviews for Barefoot Riesling
This light-bodied and refreshingly sweet wine hits all the right fruit-filled notes: delicate orange blossom, juicy apple and tangy lemon.
Barefoot Riesling hits all the right fruit-filled notes with perfect pitch. A delicate orange blossom aroma bounces off juicy apple and tangy lemon flavors for a slightly sweet finale.
Barefoot Riesling is tropical and juicy and has peach and jasmine aromas that delight before the first sip. Juicy nectarine and pear flavors complement the lingering sweet citrus and honey finish. Zesty! Serve chilled! Barefoot Riesling pairs well with fresh fruits, veggies and cheese. Serve with sushi, teriyaki and tempura dishes. Enjoy with spicy chicken tacos and green sauce enchiladas. Enjoy with friends!
Kudos to Gallo for letting people know this wine is sweet. That avoids a lot of confusion. The honey, tangerine and peach flavors are balanced with lots of zesty acidity. Delightful, and a great bargain.
