Vineyard Notes: This vintage marks the end of the drought year vintages in Northern California, which ended emphatically in the winter of 2016-2017. Once again, we saw extremely early bud break, flowering, and harvest for Pinot Noir that was mostly complete before September. These drought years have produced wines with excellent consistency, little disease pressure in the vineyards, and exceptional depth and intensity. Our vineyard selection for the Sonoma County Pinot has continued to improve over the years. We source from 18 different vineyards including parts of our Single Vineyard program, and the final blend includes 10 different clonal selections. Winemaker Notes: The 2016 edition is an exciting, yet friendly wine, bursting at the seams with aromas of macerated wild berries and an elegant, soft earth undertone. The flavors combine both sweet and tart, reminiscent of Santa Rosa plums and wild blackberries that grow so commonly in Sonoma Wine Country. The finish is bright, slightly herbal, and savory making this an excellent food wine, as well as a charming drinking experience by itself. Aging: 100% French oak; 20% new, 30% 1-year, 50% neutral Acid: 5.90 pH: 3.65 Alcohol: 13.6%

Vintage: 2015 11/20/2017

The 2015 vintage was a break from the vigorous 2012-2014 harvests. Since 2015 was a hot drought year, the quantity of grapes produced and the juice yielded from them was dramatically lower than previous vintages. Fortunately, the fruit harvested was superb in quality. Our fruit for Sonoma County Pinot Noir continues to grow more refined every year. We continually examine our vineyard sources to discard weaker links and add stronger ones. We now include Pinot Noir from 17 different vineyard sites, including many of our single vineyards, with more than 10 clones in our final blend. This enables us to have a broad palette with which to paint – our secret formula to providing high quality Pinot at unparalleled value. As has become the custom, a high percentage of Sonoma Coast fruit (81%) is the bedrock of the wine, delivering the signature floral and earth aromatics and fine structure for which the Banshee Pinot Noir is known. This wine leads with a bouquet of red fruits and cherry blossom aromas. The silky palate is layered with notes of cherry, hibiscus, mandarin peel and a faint coppery counterpoint to the fruit. In addition, one might find a hint of dark plum. The finish is fine-boned and harmonious. Aging: 11 months in French oak, 20% of which was new Alc: 13.6% pH: 3.65 TA: 6.0

2014 was the final installment of a trilogy of vintages which all featured relatively early harvests and bountiful crops with even growing seasons that presented relatively few problems. The resulting fruit was pristine and we were able to make most harvest decisions based on ideals rather than forced circumstances. Our fruit for Sonoma County Pinot Noir continues to grow more refined year after year. We continually examine our vineyard sources to discard weaker links and add stronger ones. We now include Pinot Noir from 17 different vineyard sites, including many of our single vineyards, with more than ten clones in our final blend. This enables us to have a broad palette with which to paint - our secret formula to providing high quality Pinot at unparalleled value. As with past vintages, the high percentage of Sonoma Coast fruit (79%) is the bedrock of the wine, delivering the signature floral and earth aromatics and fine structure for which the Banshee Pinot Noir is known. The 2014 is strikes a beautiful balance between both red and blue fruits, notably Bing cherry and Asian plums. Interwoven with the fruit characteristics is coastal moss, fresh wild mushrooms and spice. The wine has good carry-through from front to finish, with lively acidity to keep it light on its feet. - Winery Aging: 11 months in French oak, 20% of which was new Alcohol: 13.6% pH: 3.62 TA: 6.1

A blend of two top-notch vineyards, one in the Petaluma Wind Gap (Sonoma Coast) and one from Russian River Valley. The Sonoma County is a complex pinot with dark cherry fruit and sweet earthen minerality held together by bright acidity and long, ripe tannins. - Winery ** Only 18 in Stock **
