Banrock Station Crimson Cabernet 2012
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
When I saw this on sale at a local meat market for $4.99, I figured I didn't have much to lose. Typical Australian red fruit bomb, but not cloyingly so, and surprisingly low on tannins for such a young (2009) Cabernet. Perhaps only 3 glasses on an absolute scale, but certainly better than most $5 Australian reds, and well worth 4 glasses on a relative scale. I will probably buy more at this price.
Sweet! I'm hooked!
Fantastic smooth red, very drinkable, excellent value for money.
I love this red, very smooth. Excellent taste at a great price!
