To produce good wine for $6 is itself a challenge, but when BRL Hardy purchased this Murray River property in 1996, it upped the ante with a pledge to preserve the local wetlands threatened by winemaking and other industries. Today, a portion of every $6 sale supports Wetland Care and Landcare Australia, as well as Florida Everglades. BRL Hardy also seems to care about trees: Part of the joy of these fresh, bright wines is the near-absence of oak.
